What to expect
Your treatment begins with a thorough cleanse, hydrodermabrasion and ultrasonic cleanse to exfoliate, hydrate and prepare the skin.
Depending on your skin’s needs, a targeted peel may be incorporated to further refine and prepare the skin.
SkinPen microneedling then creates thousands of controlled microchannels in the skin, stimulating the natural wound-healing response and encouraging collagen and elastin production.
The skin may appear red immediately afterwards, similar to a mild sunburn, with sensitivity and tightness possible for the first 24-48 hours. Mild flaking or dryness may follow as the skin renews.
Each treatment is completed with LED light therapy, which helps to calm and soothe the skin while supporting the skin’s natural recovery process.
When should I have the treatment?
Suitable all year round, treatments can be performed monthly as part of a skincare regimen, or at least 10 days prior to an event.
Results
Results typically begin to appear within 4-9 days, with effects lasting up to 3 months depending on your skin quality, concerns, and aftercare.
What is the difference between the MicroTOXinfusion Facial and SKINPEN INFUSION?
The Microfusion facial delivers a customised cocktail of active ingredients (such as ‘tox, hyaluronic acid, vitamins, or peptides) directly into the superficial layers of the skin. It’s virtually painless, requires no numbing, and involves minimal to no downtime. The primary goal is skin enhancement - glow, hydration, fine line softening - rather than collagen induction.
Microneedling is performed with the SkinPen device, which uses longer needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production through a wound-healing response. It’s used more for structural improvement - acne scarring, fine lines, enlarged pores.
How does it feel?
The treatment is not painful and numbing cream is not usually required. Some mild to moderate stinging during the treatment is normal.
Side Effects/Risks
- Mild to moderate redness and swelling around the treated area is normal and usually settles within a few hours.
- Treated skin can feel tender or sensitive for a few days as it heals.
Downtime
Following treatment there may be some skin redness that typically resolves within 1-24 hours.
Aftercare
Your aftercare will be discussed with you during and following your treatment and you will also receive this by email.
- Avoid washing your face for at least 8 hours
- Avoid applying makeup until the next day
- Avoid direct sun exposure
- Avoid swimming, saunas, and steam rooms for 24 hours
- If you’re going to be in the sun directly after your treatment, please use a non-comedogenic sunscreen.
