Chemical Peels
Suitability
Full suitability can be assessed via consultation.
It is very important that you avoid using retinoids (vitamin A) and all exfoliating acids for 5 days prior to your treatment. If you have sensitive skin, we recommend stopping these products 7 days pre-treatment. It is also important to avoid intense sun exposure for 2 weeks pre-treatment, as well as any other skin, beauty or aesthetic treatments in the two weeks before prior.
What to expect
Prior to procedure, we have a full consultation to discuss your skin concerns and treatment goals. This is to ensure the appropriate peel is selected.
Each peel begins with a double cleanse, and depending on the selected peel and skin concern, various modalities may be used. The treatment takes approximately 1 hour.
You will be given post peel instructions, explained during the consultation.
Discomfort
Depending on the peel selected, there may be a short-lived mild stinging/heat sensation. Following treatment, the skin may be red, tight, swollen or irritated.
Downtime
Our gel chemical peels have little to no downtime. Mild flaking may occur.
Moderate peeling can be expected with our stronger peels, with up to 7 days downtime.
Results
- Depending on the treatment area, results may be seen within 3-6 weeks of treatment. A treatment course may be recommended for optimal results.
